TeenAlive Reaches Out To Internally Displaced Persons
By Fozao Vaniela
TeenAlive Association has donated didactics to over fifty families in Bamenda to ease back to school for their children who have been displaced by the Anglophone armed conflict.
The donation exercise that took place on Saturday 10 September 2022 at St. Joseph Big Mankon saw the beneficiaries all Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) receiving Books, Pens, Pencils among others.
According to TeenAlive Coordinator, Ngonga Linda, tradition was once again respected,
"It is our tradition in TeenAlive to reach out to IDPs as far as education is concerned. Most often it coincides with the day our founder died. We do this to keep her dreams alive. It's been a remarkable increase as compared to the other years and the feedback has been positive. This is our own small way to help the children go back to school, " she said.
One of the beneficiaries is Kain Prinoel, a student of St Frederick. He says,
"I am happy for what I have received. This will help foster my education. I promise to use them jealously."
Far from the materials given the children, Ngonga Linda rounded off by cautioning the children to always be alert and at the right place, at the right time to avoid kidnapping and cases of rape as it is very rampant today in our society.
